How do you feel about the use of neutral pronous (zhe, zher) and the introduction of a 'non-binary gender fluid' character in this book? I know I have strong feelings about it
I actually enjoy the aftermath series, i finished life debt and empires end is next. So far, i fucking love it.
It's good that Wendig is making connections between things in the New Canon but he's still a horrible writer-both technically and in terms of ideas. Bad ideas badly told.
I've been trying to read aftermath life Debt but can't get through this book
not on damn cannon novel has any luke.
I think Jakku will end up being what tatooine was in Kotor, the remnants of what happens when you fight the infinite Empire, because Rakata prime is still canon, and Jakku was a lush planet when the aramite was alive, maybe the aramite fought the Rakata, maybe the "wellspring" of the dark side is really the remnants of the infinite Empire, maybe snoke is an ancient rakatan warlord that the Empire was looking for, or maybe snoke is palpatine reborn, because the eclipse, the emperor's super star destroyer, is missing, many imperials say that palpatine has lived many lives, so basically speaking, something important involving the Rakata and palpatine is happening
luke just simply taught her some meditation techniques. anyone could use them. norra does it at one point. she still hasn't gotten significant training (in new Canon, not Legends)
I also love this book. Just finish this book. I enjoyed this series and can't wait for the third and final novel in the series.
What do you mean about the cosmic force being awaken by Rey in TFA? what's the cosmic force? I don't get that comment (you made that when you were talking about the maz interlude)
If there is a wellspring of dark side energy on Jakku , it would make sense why some Force user(s) stashed Rey there. Much like how Dagobah had the dark side presence to mask GM Yoda.
I have to agree about Luke. Life Debt is the first book of the new canon that I have read. Well listened to because I got the audio book. Then I got the audio book of Bloodline. These books now are filling us in on the New Republic and First Order stuff. It's been very Leia oriented. They've been more political. I don't think we can really get into anything deep about Luke without spoiling Episode 8. So I do believe that the novels that come out between Episode 8 and 9 will have a heavy focus on Luke, Kylo Ren, Snoke and the force. I think that what ever we find out about Jakku in the next Aftermath book, will just be a tease because I think going into too much detail will spoil anything about Rey in Ep. 8.
What if Luke's disappearance is to get that plant in shattered empire?
if you read plaugaus listen to the audiobook too. Adds so much to it

THANK YOU for the spoilers!!!! I havent had a chance to read this one yet, so I enjoy spoilers so I can at least keep up with the new canon!
This book was well written, but it took f-o-r-e-v-e-r for it to get get going. A little more than halfway through the pieces started coming together and the story picked up. I really liked Norra's gang of NR bandits. Chuck makes them endearing in their own way. I've become a fan of Sinjir and I can totally see him being played on the big screen. His character (and Chuck's writing in general) adds humor and sharp wit to a universe that can easily be plain and cold. I actually quite enjoyed the first Aftermath book and look forward to the third.

I never heard anything good about the first novel aftermath so I didn't pick it up.

The desert of Jakku isn't just randomly sucking shit underground, like TIE fighters. It's whatever the Emperor had going on.
Is ray Sloane?? Meant to be a sort of admiral daala??
If the empire was Mining Jakkucouls it be they were looking for beskar'gam or mandalorian iron??
I like Chuck Wendig, but the writing style in the sample chapters of Aftermath 1 & 2 just didn't appeal to me.
