POSITIVE VIBES ONLY! Being mean to myself or those in the comments will get you blocked. ??

Big hugs, I am so sorry about your friend. And the kitty was so so sweet, he knew Momma was in need of lovin.
RIP to your friend ????
Monthly! I'm halfway through my degree and these types of videos encourage me to start saving to pay off my student loans now!
You spend more on childcare than your mortgage…holy crap
In the beginning of this video when you are in tears, I thought you were going to say that your friend passing away so young made you think how short life is and paying debt isnt everything you have to also enjoy your life but you said the opposite… which is fine it's good to have goals that you want to reach but remember that working and loans arent everything..you have so much other life to live
Rooting for you Alyssa!! You got this girl. Debt takes awhile but one month at a time of consistency and before you know it you'll be looking back like wow we did it!
Also, Winnie is getting pretty close to those kindergarten years which will be a breath of fresh air without the cost of childcare. I mean, there will likely still be after school care and all, but it will likely relieve you of so much stress!
Sending love to you! Also, love Jordan Page! I budget $200 a week for groceries, so I can’t wrap my head around HALF of that.
Your job should offer tuition reimbursement for your masters.
My heart breaks for you. Im $12,000 in debt for student loans right now, and I haven’t even begun my Nursing program. Plus $1700 in credit cards for school. Two years of college and, most likely another year. Plus two years for Practical Nurse, and another 3 to get my bachelors degree. I’m so scared to graduate.
I’m so incredibly sorry about the loss of your friend. My heart breaks for all that knew her.
I love that your channel is no nonsense. It’s so relatable and that’s what I look for when I watch vlogs. Thank you Alyssa and I wish you well! ??
Please do a meal plan video!!! I feel like it cost me so much for just my Fiancé and I!
Student loans are just ridiculous
I'm sorry about your friend. Did you ever hear about NHSC loan repayment program? It's basically for nurses who want to be nurse practitioners. Just Google it.
What made you want to go to a school that expensive!?!?
You should consider making a patreon! I’m sure a lot of your subscribers would be willing to pay $1 a month.
Dave Ramsey ??
I can 100% relate to broke eyes on first real checks. It is absolutely okay to allow yourself to spend some money on yourself while paying off debt. Small rewards are huge motivators. Love your journey. You are doing great ??
Love your videos ?? I’m a nursing student myself and I love how relatable you are 🙂
I follow dave Ramsey- his plan to get out of debt has worked for millions. Thanks for being so raw in your videos and I know you got this girl! Just keep grinding and there is a light at the end of the tunnel. Wishing you and your family the best ?
yOu should look up Dave Ramsey. He's great about guiding people to be debt free
????
I swear I am always commenting on your videos but you aren't alone!! I have two girls my second is coming this month and we have to use student loans and my FAFSA to help us with money and we still end up with just enough to pay our bills and somehow afford gas. Our groceries are 150 a week because I have had stomach surgery so the foods that work for me are limited and need high calories so it's like I have my own grocery trip just for myself. I like to tell people that bad things in life happen to just add some spice in there because if we all had perfect lives it wouldn't be much fun. Just like going through nursing school, debt is stressful but once it is over with you'll get a big relief. Thank you again for being real.
Check out Marissa Lyda she does monthly budget updates and paid off $80k student loan debt in 2 years
I have three bachelor's and three masters degrees and been in uni for 15 years and I am aiming for PhD.
In Iceland education is free, even universities, like university of Iceland wich is by far the best uni there are most respected one you only pay 60.000isk wich is about $400-450 for the year and that is a registration fee. That is all you pay. Sama with university of Akureyri and those government owned universities. But there are few private one where you pay around 200.000 isk at least wich is about $1000 – 1300. And in those private uni's there is one quite popular in Reykjavík and other in a beautiful countryside 2 hours from Reykjavík you pay school fee, and those schools most of the people who go there for bachelor degrees specially are those who failed first year of university of Iceland or can't hold up to the level of education there as they have lot of competition exams after the first semester or did (now they have it in the summer before) so only few get through.
While the private take evryone in who graduated high school.
I went first to university of Akureyri wich is government owned and studied occupational therapy, we had competition exams after the first semester and only 25 with the highest average grade on these 5 exams that semester got to keep on studying to become OT. 25 highest graded out of 70-80 people who started. And that is the only uni in Iceland who teaches OT. So very strong competition as it is tough to study and in a category with studying medicine, law, engineering, and I guess nursing and pt is there too)
I had to take student loan one year and as I went to the top schools in Iceland, university of Akureyri and university of Iceland and then the Icelandic academy of the arts (wich is government owned but you pay quite high tuition fee, but I took classes there through uni Iceland but also paid for some classes out of pocket.
This year I had to take student loan was of course because I was studying and had no other income, but as tuition is free in Iceland I only had to take out loan for the cost of living and that one year was about 2 million isk or about $16.300.
As I was a professional athlete and had a surgery and got some very rare complications and ended my football /soccer in us at age 25 and haven't been able to work since that happened 13 years ago. I went on disability pension the year after this student loan year (also I was too sick that year to study but this was my only option to get some income to pay for my meds and surgeries and doctors (we do have public health care and if you need to stay in hospital it is free but doctors visits and day surgeries you pay x amount until you reached a limit for the year and it is lower for disability pensionists same with meds. But still was huge amount when you have no income though it was very low amount, specially compared to us).
Then I got my disability benefits and havent needed students loans since and also I wouldn't probably have so many bachelors and masters if I Could work, well maybe that many maters and doing my PhD. Wich I will hopefully soon.
So I have kept educating me as an OT I know the importance of having something to do.
And in Iceland we have amazing online system as the teachers do record the lectures with the class and put it on the system the school uses and I did that as I was too sick to attend class. But needed to go in for a week or two every semester for the hands on learning.
And out of this one or maybe it was 2 years where I needed the school loan for cost of living as I said we don't pay for tuition, unless you go to the private schools and need to pay for your degree as you can't keep up with the level of difficulty in the government schools..
And had this $16.300 in Sept I have around $1000 left wich I pay in next payment or two (as we have 2 payments a year one every 6 months but you can divide each of them into 6 monthly payments) , one obligatory and one is income based. As I am on disability I only pay the obligatory one as my income from the disability is under the limit for the income based one.
And I can't believe $90k in student loan. That is crazy.
Why don't you look into taking master online from uni Iceland as just $400 registration fee and same quality of tuition as you are in class. Look up if they have your master in online form as well and they also have many options for classes tought in English.
As this tutition fee you are paying is crazy. I find rest of Europes uni's be very expensive but they are not compared to us. But they are compared to free Scandinavian education at all levels
