Very Well Done This was an excellent story. The protagonist, Jack, is a memorable and solemn character with enough regrets to last a lifetime. Although he’s a hitman, he has “rules” and as such, a conscience. His character elicits empathy; a man who wants to reconcile his past and move on. His dealings with Dana and her son are initially platonic, designed to meet an objective and cut loose from his history, but this turns out not to be the case.
